Pramac Ducati has formally launched the bike and riders it will campaign in the 2011 MotoGP World Championship as it turns to experience in an effort to lift itself up the overall standings.

The satellite Ducati team struggled with the relatively inexperienced pairing of Mika Kallio and Aleix Espargaro in 2010, with both riders being beaten in the overall standings by fellow privateer Desmosedici rider and newcomer Hector Barbera.

As such, the team has turned to two higher-profile names for 2011 in Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet, who together bring 515 grand prix starts with them.

With the bike - which will continue in its distinctive green and white livery for this year - unveiled during a ceremony aboard the MSC Fantasia at the Port of Genoa in Italy, team principal Paolo Campinoti is excited about the potential in the pairing, adding that it is the minimum aim to come out as the first satellite team in 2011.

"MotoGP for Pramac means adrenaline, passion and fun," he said. "For ten years we are part of this world and we aim to stay here for many years. We're still a young and want to grow year after year to improve both in terms of results and in terms of services for our partners. For the season that is about to begin, we focused on top class riders like Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet.

"We are sure that thanks to their talent we will have many opportunities to celebrate at the best our first ten years in MotoGP. We know that fighting with the official teams will be very tough: our minimum goal for this season is to become the first satellite team in the standings.

Campinoti also touched on the future and the impending return of 1000cc, adding that if it can signal a return to racing as displayed in Moto2 last year, then he is looking forward to the move.

"Next year, with the return to 1000cc, will be a new adventure for everyone and we will see what will happen. If this change will bring us to attend events such as the new Moto2 last year, then it will be fun for everyone.

"Our philosophy of Green Energy Team continues and even become stronger. Next year we will have a completely new hospitality structure with big news: it will, in fact, be powered by solar panels and a wind turbine. Of course all made by Pramac."

Pramac Ducati riders Espargaro and Kallio finished the 2011 season in 14th and 17th positions overall.
