Reigning 125cc champion Marc Marquez insisted he had been able to get a good feeling for his new Moto2 machine despite the latest test at Estoril being affected by poor weather conditions.
The Spaniard celebrated his 18th birthday during the course of the test, which was affected by poor weather conditions throughout the three days.
However, Marquez was able to hit the track during dry spells on the final day although the circuit conditions meant he only worked through a limited programme before the session came to an end.
“We could not try what we had in the [full] programme for this tests because the weather did not allow us to run in normal conditions, so I only did some laps,” he said. “I tried nothing new because the track was not completely dry and there was only a narrow dry line. I just focused on gathering kilometres with the Moto2 and start taking reference points of this circuit. The feeling was good and now we have to start planning the next tests in Jerez.”
