Instead of being on track alongside his MotoGP rivals for day two of the Sepang MotoGP test, Valentino Rossi has returned to his hotel.
The Italian, who had been ninth fastest on Tuesday, was taken ill overnight and received treatment in the Clinica Mobile this (Wednesday) morning.
"Yesterday Valentino had a sore throat and then this morning he woke up with a fever," A Ducati spokeswoman told Crash.net
. "Many other people in the team are also sick.
"Valentino is not at the track now. He has gone back to the hotel and might try to ride this afternoon, but we will have to see."
The Sepang test ends on Thursday, after which only two of the eight days of 2011 pre-season testing remain before the start of the racing season.
UPDATE: Rossi will not return to the track today.
