Almost a second clear of his rivals in opening Thursday practice for the Qatar 125cc Grand Prix, Nico Terol actually extended
his advantage over the 125cc field during the second session.
Terol, the 2010 title runner-up fro Aspar Aprilia, finished the first of the four nights with a 1.016sec lead over Sandro Cortese (third in the first session), with Terol's team-mate and fellow Spaniard Hector Faubel a fraction behind the German in third.
A late fourth place went to Luis Salom, with Terol's closest first-session rival, Jonas Folger, dropping to fifth.
Efren Vasquez was the leading Derbi in sixth place, with Ajo team-mate Johann Zarco the final rider within two-seconds of Terol.
Danny Kent was the top Briton in eighth, with countryman Danny Webb putting the new Mahindra entry into 16th.
The unique four-night schedule for the Qatar event will see one further 125cc free practice session on Friday, followed by qualifying and (controversially) the warm-up on Saturday, then the race on Sunday.
