Moto2: Bradl on pole at Estoril

Stefan Bradl takes pole position for the Portuguese Moto2 Grand Prix at Estoril.
Stefan Bradl kept his perfect run of 2011 Moto2 pole positions intact by snatching the top spot from Thomas Luthi on his very last lap of qualifying at Estoril.

Bradl, winner at Estoril last year and again at round one of this year, put his Kalex 0.163sec clear of Luthi's Interwetten Suter with Julian Simon completing the front row for Aspar Suter.

Reigning 125cc world champion Marc Marquez, yet to finish a 2011 race, will start from fourth for Repsol Suter with Dominique Aegerter a Moto2 best of fifth for Technomag-Suter.

Team-mate and double World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu fell with two minutes remaining, at a track where he led on his Moto2 debt last October, and will start in eighth place.

Between them will be Gresini Moriwaki team-mates Michele Pirro and Yuki Takahashi. Takahashi, whose brother died in a road accident last weekend, had been fastest on Friday.

World championship leader Andrea Iannone (Speed Master Suter) once again struggled in qualifying and will line-up just 14th on the grid, exactly one second from Bradl.

Although the track was almost completely dry, a damp patch at turn one caught out numerous riders.

Qualifying - Estoril:

1. Bradl (Kalex) 1m 41.591s
2. Luthi (Suter) +0.163s
3. Simon (Suter) +0.314s
4. Marquez (Suter) +0.482s
5. Aegerter (Suter) +0.552s
6. Pirro (Moriwaki) +0.628s
7. Takahashi (Moriwaki) +0.668s
8. Sofuoglu (Suter) +0.716s
9. Cluzel (Suter) +0.809s
10. P. Espargaro (FTR) +0.865s

13. Redding (Suter) +0.972s
15. Smith (Tech 3) +1.152s

Superb again by Bradl. On the other hand I do hope that Tom or Julian notch up a win and Marc gets some solid points at worst. Actually,I don't care who wins as long as its an epic race without restarts, crashes and injuries.
