Jorge Lorenzo says he is targeting another podium finish at the French Grand Prix as he looks to protect his MotoGP series lead heading to his home Barcelona event.
The Spaniard has shown impressive consistency over the opening three events, but was out-raced last time out at Estoril by countryman Dani Pedrosa, a performance that brought his advantage down in the overall standings to four points.
Nonetheless, Lorenzo is fond of the Le Mans circuit having won there in 2010, the reigning champion eyeing a repeat performance this year in an effort to retain his advantage heading to his home Catalunya Grand Prix.
"I am coming back to Le Mans, a track I really enjoy and where I won last season," the Yamaha rider said. "The people in Le Mans love motorbikes, they love the smell of fuel. We are on the top, but we should be focused on getting as many points as possible.
“Our main goal is the podium, our fourth podium, and to be in front in Montmeló. This track has a lot of chicanes and is funny for me. The weather is always changing, we have to be careful with the forecast, it can change everything."
