Doohan to make Silverstone appearance

"I've never visited the place before and with all the new work they've been doing to the track and the pits it all looks pretty cool" - Mick Doohan.
Silverstone has announced that MotoGP legend Mick Doohan will be attending on both the Saturday and Sunday of this year's British Grand Prix - and is looking forward to meeting the fans.

After visiting the Isle of Man TT races, the five-time 500cc World Champion will head to Silverstone on June 11-12 where fans will be able to meet the Australian at autograph and Q&A sessions.

Doohan will also be making appearances on the main entertainment stage on both days of the British Grand Prix.

“I plan to hop over to Silverstone for the MotoGP race right after the TT to catch up with some old mates and meet some of the race fans,” said Doohan. “I've never visited the place before and with all the new work they've been doing to the track and the pits it all looks pretty cool.”

Doohan won five consecutive World Championships from 1994 to 1998 and won 12 of the 15 races held during the 1997 season.

Well Ringo if you were Casey would you? From what i understand he loved his time in the UK learning his trade. But then he gets boo'd by a few mentally defective race fans. I'm curious as to what Mick would say if that happened to him... He's not one to hold back. Come to think of it none of the Aussie guys i know are... But the English media seem to need an anti-hero and they've marked Casey as the 'it'.
