Valentino Rossi will return to Mugello for the first time since the accident that left him with a broken leg last season as Ducati continue their development work on the 1000cc Ducati GP12.
It will be the second such outing for Rossi aboard the 2012 prototype this season, the Italian completing one day aboard the bike at Jerez last month, and comes a week after Honda rolled out its 2012 effort with Casey Stoner.
According to GPOne.com
, Rossi will be joined by Ducati's regular test team, Vittoriano Guareschi and Franco Battiani, for a day of testing on Mugello's newly-laid surface.
Taking up the third of Ducati's allocated eight testing days with the new GP12 - Nicky Hayden also rode for one day at Jerez - Rossi's latest 1000cc outing will be his first ride around Mugello since breaking his leg during practice for the 2010 Italian Grand Prix.
So far, Honda have completed two days of testing, while Yamaha is set to debut its 1000cc bike at the post Italian Grand Prix test. Suzuki, meanwhile, is yet to confirm whether it will be present next season.
