Abraham staying in MotoGP for 2012

Karel Abraham, Cardion AB and Ducati staying together for MotoGP 2012.
Karel Abraham and the Cardion AB Motoracing team will both continue in MotoGP next season, it was announced at Assen on Thursday.

It means that both of this year's rookies - Abraham and Cal Crutchlow - have confirmed places on the 2012 grid, when engine capacity will increase from 800 to 1000cc and a new category of privateer 'Claiming Rule Teams' will join the class.

Abraham, a Moto2 race winner, claimed his best MotoGP qualifying position with an impressive sixth at the recent Silverstone round. The Czech has finished a best of seventh (twice) in the six races to date, and holds tenth in the championship.

Cardion AB will continue to use Ducati machinery in 2012 with 'an option' for 2013.

The Cardion AB team is owned by Abraham's father, who also owns the Brno circuit, home of the Czech Republic MotoGP round.

The full list of riders (alphabetical order) with a confirmed 2012 MotoGP contract is as follows:

1. Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Ducati)
2. Cal Crutchlow (Tech 3 Yamaha)
3. Nicky Hayden (Ducati)
4. Jorge Lorenzo (Factory Yamaha)
5. Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda)
6. Valentino Rossi (Ducati)

Great to see people acknowledgeing that he is doing well, always said he is better than what people think. Check back in the archives if you dont believe, you cannot buy beating world champions on the track, the kid has talent. I am sure some will come on saying daddies money, so what daddies contacts got Haslam some very good rides, including Shell Advance 500 at 17. He had some great results on a very second string LE Aprilia, now his dads investment is paying off.
