PICS: Stoner falls at Assen

MotoGP World Championship leader Casey Stoner highsides in Friday morning practice at Assen.
The Repsol Honda team suffered a nightmare start to Friday morning practice for the Dutch MotoGP when all three of its riders suffered big accidents within the space of a few minutes.

First to tumble was world championship leader Casey Stoner (see below for more pictures), followed swiftly by Andrea Dovizioso (at the same turn) and then stand-in Hiroshi Aoyama.

Stoner and Aoyama walked away, but Dovizioso was taken to the medical centre with a toe injury, before also returning to the track.

I am not a fan of Stoner's personality, but if you look at what he did on the Ducati, and is now doing on the Honda, one cannot be anything but impressed..Rossi certainly needs to get some results, he is quickly becoming eclipsed by stoner and it is looking more and more like the real goat has been Stoner on the Ducati all those years and now on the Honda. One crash in testing is completely insignificant, on race day Casey is #1....as for personality, it only helps to add colour to the sport to have differing personalities, if everyone was like Rossi (whom I like) it would be boring indeed!..

I agree with "iusedtobesleepy" Can we have two sets of comments. One for the retards to bitch about Rossi and Stoner and one for serious race/bike fans that want to talk about a fantastic sport.
