"where are the spectators in Indy ?" The short answer is that they are "where the camera aren't"... Indy is a 2.5 mile oval that seats in excess of 250,000 people. The MotoGP course utilizes the front straight, part of the short straight between turns 1 & 2 and turn 2 of the oval. the road portion cuts under turn 1 and then transition off of turn 2 and wind through the ovals' infield and cuts under turn 4 and back onto the front straight... The best viewing areas are in the Southeast Vista on the out side of the ovals' turn 2 and the Northwest Vista on the outside of the ovals' turn 4... these two areas, not picked up by the cameras, give the best view of the largest portion of the track... No one or hardly anyone sits on the front straight... Who wants to see just a MotoGP drag race? One of the biggest problems with Indy... along with it not being a purpose built road course... is that it looks empty with "only" 80K attending.
