125cc World Championship leader Nico Terol led both of Friday's free practice sessions for the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano.

The Aspar Aprilia - who rebuilt his title lead back up to 26 points with his sixth win of the season last Sunday at Indianapolis - overcame opposition from team-mate Hector Faubel, Red Bull Ajo's Danny Kent, plus the Ajo Derbis of Johann Zarco and Efren Vasquez to finish the day with a 0.194sec advantage.

Faubel, winner at Sachsenring, had been fastest until Terol raised his pace in the closing minutes - Terol's best lap being his 18th and last.

Young British star Kent was just 0.340sec behind with Terol's nearest title rival Zarco dropping from second to fourth after falling at the end of the session.
