125: Zarco on pole at Misano

Johann Zarco takes pole position for the 125cc San Marino Grand Prix at Misano.
Johann Zarco has taken pole position for Sunday's 125cc San Marino Grand Prix after a last lap showdown at Misano.

Zarco was one of three riders under the pole time during the final lap, with championship leader Nico Terol momentarily moving to the top before Zarco snatched it back. Terol was then pushed to third by Aspar Aprilia team-mate Hector Faubel.

It is Zarco's second pole of the year for Ajo Derbi and he starts Sunday's race 26 points behind Terol in the championship.

Sandro Cortese will head row two for Racing Ream Germany, alongside Briton Danny Kent (Ajo Aprilia) and impressive wild-card Miroslav Popov (Ellegi Aprilia).

great stuff from zarco on a bike thats at least 5hp down on power judging by the way terol can motor past him on the circuits with long straights and a team with far less resources than terols.good to see talent outshining money. terol will slip backinto mid pack when they both move to moto 2,whereas zarco has a bright future ahead of him.

Looks set for another great 125 race! Terol won't clear off like last week! Hope Zarco wins! and Danny Kent can get challenge for a podium!
