Elias concludes WSBK test

MotoGP race winner Toni Elias finishes two-day test for BMW Italia at Misano.
Toni Elias made a small lap time improvement during the second and final day of testing at Misano, after which he headed for this weekend's Aragon MotoGP round.

The reigning Moto2 world champion, who has rarely looked comfortable on his LCR Honda this season, trimmed 0.3sec from his best lap time on day two, but remained eleventh out of the 13 riders.

Elias was testing for the satellite BMW Italia team and was 1.7sec behind regular rider Ayrton Badovini and 2.0sec from fastest man Marco Melandri (Yamaha).

As well as getting used to the S1000RR, Elias was riding on Pirelli WSBK tyres for the first time.

"Toni was testing with the sole objective of becoming as familiar as possible with the SBK. But a day and a half is certainly not a lot of time to get to know a motorcycle," said team manager Serafino Foti. "In the meantime, we did gather a lot of information from him as well.

"At the end of the morning Toni left to rejoin his Team for the MotoGP race this weekend. I would like to express my personal thanks to Toni for his willingness to participate and also to the LCR Team."

Spaniard Elias will be back on his RC212V during Friday morning practice at Aragon.

It's not easy jumping from one series to another, but recent history shows the best excel here. Think Simoncelli at Monza - podium first weekend riding the bike. Rossi testing the R1 at Misano after breaking his leg - his lap time was faster than Cal & James had done during the race weekend. That Toni is so far behind Bandovini (despite his favourable body dimensions) shows he's not in the same league as Vale & Marco.

well on a no pressure run out on the beemer ,you might have expected him to have a bit of fun and chuck in a half decent lap,the only eyebrow raising thing here after 2 days, is the slow laptime
