MotoGP race winner Toni Elias finishes two-day test for BMW Italia at Misano.
Toni Elias completes WSBK test
Toni Elias made a small lap time improvement during the second and final day of testing at Misano, after which he headed for this weekend's Aragon MotoGP round.

The reigning Moto2 world champion, who has rarely looked comfortable on his LCR Honda this season, trimmed 0.3sec from his best lap time on day two, but remained eleventh out of the 13 riders.

Elias was testing for the satellite BMW Italia team and was 1.7sec behind regular rider Ayrton Badovini and 2.0sec from fastest man Marco Melandri (Yamaha).

As well as getting used to the S1000RR, Elias was riding on Pirelli WSBK tyres for the first time.

"Toni was testing with the sole objective of becoming as familiar as possible with the SBK. But a day and a half is certainly not a lot of time to get to know a motorcycle," said team manager Serafino Foti. "In the meantime, we did gather a lot of information from him as well.

"At the end of the morning Toni left to rejoin his Team for the MotoGP race this weekend. I would like to express my personal thanks to Toni for his willingness to participate and also to the LCR Team."

Spaniard Elias will be back on his RC212V during Friday morning practice at Aragon.

Hmmmmmmm, given his pedigree there must be some disappointment he's not made much of an improvement on day 2 and that he's not closer to Badovini. But a lot to take in during a short test on a particularly fickle bike.

Wonder where he goes from here?
