Two Honda MotoGP wild-cards at Motegi!

Two Honda MotoGP wild-cards at Motegi
Honda has revealed it will run two additional riders during the forthcoming Japanese MotoGP at Motegi, raising the number of RC212Vs on the grid from six to eight.

The new bikes will be for experienced Honda test riders Shinichi Ito and Kosuke Akiyoshi. Ito will be a wild-card entry in a HRC Team while Akiyoshi will ride alongside Toni Elias at LCR.

Ito was a full time 500cc rider from 1993-1996, claiming six podiums, while Akiyoshi has made seven wild-card MotoGP starts since 2006. Ito's most recent start was in 2007, while Akiyoshi rode as a substitute in this year's Assen round.

The two new entries means there will be three home riders in the MotoGP class at Motegi, with Gresini Honda's Hiroshi Aoyama the only full-time rider from Japan.

HRC hopes that the move will "bring courage and show support for the East Japan area", which is recovering from the earthquake and tsunami earlier this year.

First practice for the Japanese MotoGP takes place on September 30.

Very pleased to see that Ito-san and Akiyoshi-san are being given a chance to race at Japan. Putting more Japanese riders on the grid is a very good way to support the Japanese through their hard times that they've been having recently and it will no doubt please the Japanese bike fans. Good luck to both riders and stay strong Japan!

honda is being an **** by giving marco another factory bike next year and still negotiating with dovi. may be dovi should've dumped that honda 5-6 times this season with a penny podium..then he might have sort his ride out for next season.
