125: Vinales sets Friday pace at Motegi

Race-winning grand prix rookie Maverick Vinales finished his first day at Motegi in Japan on top of the 125cc free practice timesheets.
The Paris Hilton Aprilia star had been third behind title leaders Nico Terol and Johann Zarco in FP1, but moved ahead of them both in the closing stages of the afternoon with the fastest lap of the day.
Title leader Terol, who had been 0.6sec faster than Terol in morning practice, didn't improve in the afternoon (when spots of rain fell).
The Aspar Aprilia rider was 0.246sec behind Vinales, but 0.074sec ahead of Zarco. Terol starts this weekend with a 36 point lead over Zarco.
Zarco's Ajo Derbi team-mate Efren Vazquez was taken to the medical centre after a heavy fall early in the second session.Friday practice (2):
