125: Terol takes over in FP2 at Sepang

Nico Terol fastest during Friday practice (2) for the Malaysian 125cc Grand Prix at Sepang.
125cc World Championship leader Nico Terol took the initiative during Friday practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix with a lap time 0.6sec clear of his nearest rival.

Phillip Island winner Sandro Cortese (Racing Team Germany) got closest to Terol, with Efren Vazquez (Ajo Derbi) in third and Terol's Aspar Aprilia team-mate Hector Faubel fourth.

Terol starts the penultimate round with a 25-point advantage over Johann Zarco and will therefore be champion if he finishes ahead of the Frenchman - or if Zarco fails to score - on Sunday.

Ajo Derbi rider Zarco was only fifth fastest around the Sepang circuit during Friday afternoon practice and just over one-second from Terol.

1. Terol (Aprilia) 2m 13.864s
