Pedrosa: Respect and appreciation for Simoncelli

"This weekend we will all have Marco in our thoughts and I hope the fans show their respect and appreciation to him, as the whole MotoGP family will do" - Dani Pedrosa.
Home favourite Dani Pedrosa will be chasing his third Valencia MotoGP victory this weekend, which would move him above Repsol Honda team-mate Andrea Dovizioso for third in the final standings.

However Pedrosa knows that Valencia will be far from a normal event, following the loss of Marco Simoncelli at the previous Malaysian round.

"Valencia will be a very special race for everybody," he said. "This weekend we will all have Marco in our thoughts and I hope the fans show their respect and appreciation to him, as the whole MotoGP family will do.

"Valencia is a track I like a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing all the fans there again. Last year I couldn't perform very well due to injury, but this time I hope to have a good race and finish the season in a good shape."

We don't know for sure that Dani and Sic didn't make amends. Dani seems to be a private person, and it seems to some extent Sic was too. There's every chance that Dani had already made amends with Marco, away from the public eye. I hope people won't keep bringing up handshake-gate following Marco's tragic death.

@Riderfan you could say the same about the fans on this site, most were bagging Sic when he had an incident with another rider, or crashed out of a race, always had the most disagreed posts when someone said something positive about him, now he is gone nothing but good things about him, just shows how much of an impact he made in motogp. He was the guy who was going to take Rossi's spot, not saying in WC's and race wins, but as in the fan fav
