Misano to be named after Marco Simoncelli

'Marco Simoncelli World Circuit'
Misano, Marco Simoncelli's local track, has announced that it will be renamed in his honour.

The tribute to the 24-year-old MotoGP star, who lost his life at the recent Malaysian Grand Prix, was unanimously agreed during a meeting of the board of directors on Wednesday night.

"We owe it to the memory of Sic," said circuit president Luca Colaiacov, "his family, the hundreds of thousands of fans who admired his courage and humanity, and the many sport and media personalities that gave voice to this spontaneous popular movement."

Misano hosts the San Marino round of the MotoGP World Championship.

I find it deplorable that in the modern world we as humans ,and motorcyclist, cant agree that the act to name the Misano circuit in Simocelli's name as an act of respect for the deceased has been met with some of the people on here disagreeing with it. How a circuit or country decides to honor their deceased sportsmen is their choice. Why cant we all just Let Italy celebrate this young man's life and zest for his sport the way they wish without disagreeing for the sake of getting a rise out of someone. People stop hating for just a moment of your lives and just stop being immature.
