Will Ellison be at Valencia?

There is a rumour that former WCM and Tech 3 MotoGP rider James Ellison will visit this weekend's Valencia MotoGP with Paul Bird.

They are expected to meet with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, regarding Bird's plans for a 2012 MotoGP team.

Bird has run the factory Kawasaki World Superbike team in recent seasons, while Ellison has raced in BSB and World Supersport.

Not good enough for any world grid? Ya, for a double European Superstock winner and also World Endurance Champion, probably not. Couldn't get a podium in WSS? I thought that's just what he did.. 2 of them in fact, and 2 fastest laps when he finally got the bike sorted after not being on a supersport for 10 years.. and putting a privateer BSB bike on the podium that had never been able to before at the same time. For sure, not world class at all. haha

Ellison is one of the most underrated riders out there IMHO, he always punches above his weight in terms of equipment as he proved this year in BSB. Given the great job he did on Poncharals bike on Dunlops he would be ideal for a CRT team finding their way. Remember he went very well for WCM in a similar situation. If he gets the gig Im almost praying for rain at Silverstone next June - even though I will be stood in it getting soaked! ps I dont know him and am not related
