New Gresini Honda MotoGP rider has pins removed
Alvaro Bautista has undergone surgery to remove pins from the left femur he broke during practice for the opening round of the 2011 MotoGP season in Qatar.

The Spaniard wrote on his official Twitter page @19Bautista: "The operation is over, everything went very well... thanks to the whole team @ USPHospitales"

Despite the severity of the injury, Bautista missed just two rounds before returning to MotoGP action at Estoril in Portugal.

Bautista is moving from Suzuki to Gresini Honda for 2012, which will be the former 125cc world champion's third year in the premier-class.
