Dovizioso confident of Sepang MotoGP test fitness
New Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Andrea Dovizioso, who broke his right collarbone in a motocross accident on January 5, is confident he will ride in the forthcoming Sepang MotoGP test.

The Italian, third in last year's world championship for Repsol Honda, is currently recovering from surgery to plate the shoulder injury and has until the end of this month to regain the necessary fitness.

Writing on his official Twitter page @AndreaDovizioso, the 25-year-old thanked fellow riders Valentino Rossi, Nico Terol, Jorge Lorenzo and Marco Melandri for their best wishes, adding:

“I'm doing the rehab, I should be ok for testing in Malaysia.”

With fellow injured MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden also confident he can attend, the first test of 2012 should see all twelve of the 'full' prototype riders on track.

The presence of the new CRT-class competitors is less certain, with only Forward Racing's Colin Edwards (Suter-BMW) rumoured to be attending Sepang I.

Only 1 CRT attending? How long does it take to modify a chassis from carrying a 600, to being able to hold a 1000? We're freaking out here for some stimulation already!
