Moto3: Injury blow for Spaniard Rins

Spanish teenager Alex Rins will miss next month's Moto3 tests following a dirtbike training crash
Repsol's Alex Rins has undergone successful surgery after dislocating his left shoulder in a pre-season accident on Wednesday.

He sustained the injury following a dirtbike crash at Catalunya and the CEV Spanish National 125cc champion will miss the first pre-season Moto3 tests from February 8-10 as a result of the operation.

Rins was treated at the USP Dexeus Hospital following the incident.

He has been training hard in the gym and was riding the dirtbike to ensure he remained bike fit in preparation for the beginning of the new season.

Rins will be out for three weeks, ruling him out of the Moto3 tests at Valencia next month.

The 16-year-old Spaniard is regarded as a potential star of the future and has been granted the opportunity to compete for the Repsol team in Moto3 in 2012.
