Damp track keeps riders in pits

Damp track keeps riders in pits as first MotoGP test of 2012 'begins'.
Overnight rain has delayed the start of the first MotoGP test of 2012, being held at Sepang in Malaysia.

The green lights went on at 10am local time, but with the track still damp all riders remained in the pits.

The delay certainly didn't seem to concern Valentino Rossi, who wandered into the Sepang paddock at 10.30am. Rossi and team-mate Nicky Hayden are due to try the 'all new' version of the GP12 for the first time today.

The twelve manufacturer MotoGP riders are present for the three-day test, plus some CRT machines.

UPDATE: Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa was the first rider on track at 11:15am.
