Who impressed you most in Sunday's Qatar MotoGP?
The opening round of the 2012 MotoGP season in Qatar on Sunday night saw Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo clinch victory ahead of the Hondas of Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner in the first race for the new breed of 1000cc machines.

Reigning champion Stoner led for much of the race, but struggled with arm pump, and eventually dropped to third behind Lorenzo and Pedrosa - who had qualified just seventh on the grid.

Tech 3 Yamaha rider Cal Crutchlow matched his best MotoGP result with fourth, after a race long battle with new team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.

Nicky Hayden finished as the top Ducati in sixth, followed by new Gresini signing Alvaro Bautista and LCR Honda rookie Stefan Bradl - who held sixth for much of the race.

The new 'Claiming Rule Team' class was headed by Colin Edwards. The Suter-BMW rider finished 12 seconds clear of his nearest privateer rival, Aspar Aprilia's Randy de Puniet, who fought his way forwards from 17th on lap one.
