Biaggi expects British challenge

“At Donington the first rivals are clearly the home riders, but I can't rule anyone out” – Max Biaggi.
Max Biaggi knows the Brits will be on form in front of their home fans at Donington Park this weekend, but isn't ruling anyone out.

Indeed, the Factory Aprilia star highlighted that almost all of the six WSBK manufacturers have at least one rider capable of fighting for victory.

Former champion Biaggi will take a slim two-point lead over reigning title holder Carlos Checa (Ducati) in to this weekend's fifth round, with third place Tom Sykes (Kawasaki) just six points from the top.

“The season is really coming alive now,” said Biaggi. “Every race from here on becomes crucial, especially since the point spreads are very tight after the Monza round.

“The 2012 Championship is turning out to be as heated a competition as ever. Practically all the manufacturers have at least one rider that can battle for victory.

“At Donington the first rivals are clearly the home riders, but I can't rule anyone out.

“The important thing for us will be to find the right direction to go for the set-up right away in order not to struggle during crucial moments and to have a good package ready on Sunday”.

Aprilia, Ducati, Kawasaki and Honda have all take at least one race win so far this year. BMW has taken podiums while Suzuki is currently playing catch-up.

Can't count out Sykes. He was challenging Max for 3rd last year in the first race before tucking the front into the chicane... This year's bike, as we've seen, is MUCH more sorted. GO TOM!!!!

Watch Sykes. Podium here a few years back as a BSB wild card on Rizla Suzuki beaten only by Bayliss! Could be another win this weekend after the Monza breakthrough win I think.... Just my 2 cents!
