Moto2: Simeon to sit out Catalunya

Xavier Simeon to sit out Catalunya due to Le Mans injuries.
Tech 3 Moto2 rider's Xavier Simeon will not participate in next weekend's Catalan Grand Prix due to injuries suffered during last weekend's Le Mans round.

The Belgian broke bones in his left hand and foot after a heavy qualifying accident in Le Mans last Saturday and, while he is recovering well from the injuries, Simeon and Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal have decided not to rush his recovery.

Simeon will thus return to his Mistral 610 machine when practice for the British Grand Prix gets underway at the following Silverstone event, on Friday, June 15.

Tech 3 is currently looking for a replacement to ride alongside Bradley Smith at the Catalunya round. An announcement will be made 'in due course'.

Simoen has taken a best finish of 13th so far this season.

Apparently it's Jordi Torres who's replacing him. I really think this team either needs to get more bikes out there or just get a couple of Suters or Kalex because they seem to be going further backwards every year. Neither Smith or Simeon are mugs on a bike. Get well soon.

I think Poncharal ought to have a look at Crash because one of the 'experts' running down Smith in the comments on his blog reckoned he could give Bradley a run for his money on equal machinery. With such a pool of talent and wisdom to draw upon, Tech 3 could be leading the championship.
