Karel Abraham intends to try and participate in this weekend's Silverstone MotoGP round.

The Cardion AB Ducati rider sustained a 'double fracture of the left fingertip' during last week's Aragon test. The final decision on whether he can race will be made after consultation with the circuit doctors in Britain.

"I?m leaving to Silverstone on Wednesday after medical examinations. We'll try to take out the splint and we'll see if the movements with the hand will be painful and if the cut fingers won't bleed again," said Abraham.

"I really would like to race at Silverstone. We need to collect more points in championship and I?ll do everything to be at the track.

"On the other side it would be irresponsible to race at all costs, risking that the healing will take longer.

"There's a series of four races starting with Assen [at the end of this month] and it would really be a catastrophe to miss these races."

If Abraham, who has scored points once this season, is unable to ride it will reduce the manufacturer line-up to eleven riders.
