It seems increasingly likely that Cal Crutchlow will not take part in Saturday's qualifying for his home British MotoGP at Silverstone.
Initial x-rays cleared the Englishman of having suffered a fracture to his left ankle following a heavy fall during final practice, but he has now been taken to a local hospital for a scan to ascertain the full extent of his injuries.
Crutchlow was forced to miss last year's race after suffering a fractured collarbone in qualifying and with his participation in this afternoon's qualifying session now under threat the possibility of him being fit to race is clearly in doubt.
MotoGP qualifying starts at 1.55pm (local time).
Crutchlow would still be able to start the race, from the back of the grid, if he misses qualifying.
UPDATE: Crutchlow officially out of qualifying. No decision yet made for the race.
