Moto2: Chassis switch for Forward Racing

Forward Racing switches its Moto2 riders from Suter to FTR.
Forward Racing has announced that its riders Alex de Angelis and Yuki Takahashi will switch from the Suter to FTR chassis from this weekend's Assen round.

Forward Racing will continue to collaborate with Suter on its BMW-powered CRT MotoGP project, ridden by Colin Edwards.

Indeed, the team states that it is splitting from Suter in Moto2 in order to 'to focus its collaboration' on the MotoGP relationship.

“Important news in Moto2 where Alex De Angelis and Yuki Takahashi, from this race onwards will have a new bike supplier FTR Company,” sad a team statement.

“A difficult decision made by the team in order to focus its collaboration with Suter on the MotoGP class.

“The hope is that the change will be able to help the team further improve its results by having the British manufacturer FTR focus on the development of the Moto2 bikes of the Team.”

de Angelis is 15th in the Moto2 standings with a best finish of sixth so far this year, while fellow former Moto2 race winner Takahashi is yet to score.

Forward Racing joins Ioda, SAG and Andreozzi Reparto Corse in running FTRs.

Ioda's Simone Corsi is tenth in the championship, while Suter is fighting for the title with its 2012 race winners Marc Marquez and Thomas Luthi.

“A difficult decision made by the team in order to focus its collaboration with Suter on the MotoGP class" Hmm, seems like a shorthand way of saying that Suter is still refusing to give an equal level of support to teams using his chassis in Moto2 despite the exodus to other manufacturers that his favouritism of Marquez caused last year.
