Having spent the last six years racing at the front of MotoGP, Dani Pedrosa realises that claiming consistent points and avoiding injury is crucial to title success.

Pedrosa is third in the championship, 19 points behind Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner, and has been exceptionally consistent so far in 2012.

Having finished on the podium in all but one of the seven races, Pedrosa has the rostrum form required - but needs to start winning races.

"Basically for the championship you need to obviously win races, but you also need to finish races," commented Pedrosa, the most successful rider not to win the premier-class crown.

"In the past always my mistake was that I missed two or three races per year [through injury].

"So I try to win, but also I try to stay on the bike and be on the grid every weekend."

The next MotoGP race is at the Sachsenring in Germany, where Pedrosa has been victorious the last two years.
