Torrential rain at the Sachsenring on Thursday afternoon prompted MotoGP champion Casey Stoner to warn that similar conditions on Sunday could mean racing is abandoned.
“If it rains like that on Sunday, that heavily, I can't see the races going ahead to be honest. Everything was flooded immediately,” said the Repsol Honda rider.
“I've raced in some pretty horrific conditions here in 2008 and if it's like that again or a little bit worse…
“It became very treacherous [in 2008]. Especially coming down the hill, when there is a lot of running water coming across the track it can be dangerous in terms of aquaplaning.
“We'll have to see, but it looks we'll be getting some wet practice in again this weekend anyway…”
Stoner starts round eight tied on points with Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo.
