Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Andrea Dovizioso is the only satellite rider to have finished on the MotoGP podium this season - and has done so twice in the last three races.

"The last three races we've been quite fast," he said. "We did our first podium in Barcelona, we had the possibility to fight for the podium in Silverstone but I crashed, and then we got the podium again in Assen."

But the Italian is far from satisfied.

"We are fast, but this is not enough. As you can see, Lorenzo is using more of the potential of the bike, so it means we can do better," he explained. "This is our target and my feeling with the bike improves every time."

Dovizioso also refused to used his machinery specification as an excuse.

"Our bike is really, really close to the factory bike. Yamaha gives us important support, so I think we have the possibility to stay with [the factory bikes]. The problem is they are really fast!" he smiled.

The former Repsol Honda grand prix winner has made no secret of his desire to return to factory status for 2013, despite settling in seamlessly with Tech 3 this year.

"[A factory ride] is the strategy of everybody," he said. "My feeling with Tech 3 is really great, but everybody has to be in a factory team to fight for the championship. This is the target. All I can do is get the results, get on the podium.

"This track has been difficult for me, but last year improved and I'm really interested to see how the Yamaha will be here and then after it's my home race at Mugello..."

Dovizioso starts this weekend fifth in the championship and just one point behind team-mate Cal Crutchlow, despite his Silverstone non-score.
