LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl hopes he can improve further at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello after equalling his best MotoGP result at Sachsenring last weekend.
Bradl feels he will be stronger at the Italian circuit than he was at his home track in Germany, where he claimed his best finish in the dry this season in fifth.
The MotoGP rookie also finished fifth in the wet at Le Mans and is now aiming to finish even higher up the order on Sunday.
Bradl almost won last year's Moto2 race at Mugello on his way to lifting the title, but was only just squeezed out by Marc Marquez.
The Italian Grand Prix is an important race for his team, which is owned by former 125cc star Lucio
“I am very excited about next weekend in Mugello.
That's a better circuit than Sachsenring for me,” Bradl said.
“I like the layout and the fast corners and I hope that we can be a bit closer to the front group, because in Sachsenring the final result was pretty good, but we struggled too much with edge grip.
“I know that the temperature will be very high and the race will be very tough, physically speaking, but I am not worried,” he added.
“Even in Sachsenring it was not easy with a 30-lap race. I am looking forward to sunny Mugello because it's one of my favourite tracks and I know that it's a very important race for my team.
“Most of our supporters will come to see me and this makes more motivated.”
