Czech rider Karel Abraham to miss Italian Grand Prix through injury, replacement rider 'unlikely'
Injured Abraham ruled out of Italian Grand Prix
Karel Abraham will miss this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.

The Cardion AB Ducati rider was also ruled out of the previous round at the Sachsenring after abandoning his comeback ride at Assen, where he struggled during practice and qualifying.

The Czech ace suffered several lacerations to the fingers and a broken fifth metacarpal bone (little finger) during a post-Catalunya testing accident, ruling the Cardion AB Ducati rider out of the following British round at Silverstone.

Ducati test rider and former grand prix racer Franco Battaini took Abraham's place in Germany but will not stand in at Mugello.

Abraham has scored points once so far this year.

A team statement said: “Karel Abraham has taken his doctors' advice to pull out of the MotoGP race at Mugello in Italy.

“Franco Battaini, who started for the team at Sachsenring will not be racing in Italy.

“Cardion AB Motoracing will therefore probably be unable to enter into the race any replacement rider.”
