From this weekend's Italian Grand Prix onwards the San Carlo Honda Gresini MotoGP team will return to its traditional white livery.
Having run in black colours out of respect for the team's late star Marco Simoncelli, the joint decision to return to white from round nine onwards is 'passionately supported' by the Simoncelli family.
The video below shows Marco's father Paolo signing a message on the white bike.
“Seeing the white livery on our bikes again was incredibly emotional,” said team owner Fausto Gresini. “The choice to race in black was out of respect for the memory of Marco and to send out the message that he will never be replaced.
“Several months on Marco remains in our hearts and his fans have been very vocal to me saying that they would like to see the return of the one thing that most reminds them of him.
“Now we are back in white and my heart feels like it will explode.”
Alvaro Bautista (Honda RC213V) and Michele Pirro (FTR-Honda) will carry the white livery in MotoGP.
HRC will present Simoncelli's father with Marco's RC212V race bike and a special CBR1000RR replica during the Mugello weekend.
