Moto2: di Megio to replace injured Neukirchner

“I am happy to announce that I will riding for Kiefer at Misano, the team that won the 2011 World Championship with Stefan Bradl” - Mike di Meglio

Frenchman Mike di Meglio will continue his season of musical chairs after finding himself a stand-in ride at Kiefer Racing for this weekend's Misano round of the Moto2 World Championship.

Kiefer's regular rider Max Neukirchner fractured his left hand during practice at Brno, and is not likely to return before the Motegi round in Japan in October, meaning di Meglio is also likely to have a seat for the Aragon race.

Since starting the season at Speed Master, whom he left in July when the amount of funding they required became an issue, di Meglio has gone on to replace the injured Alex Lundh at MZ Racing for the rounds at Mugello, Indianapolis and Brno.

For Misano, Cresto Guide MZ racing do not have a bike present in the entry list of either Moto2 or Moto3.

Former 125cc champion di Meglio took to his official Facebook account to announce his new, temporary home at Kiefer Racing.

“I am happy to announce that I will riding for Kiefer at Misano, the team that won the 2011 World Championship with Stefan Bradl, Misano is a track that I really like, it's very technical and some sectors are really fast.

“I'll have to familiarize myself with the Kalex during the weekend, it's a bike that I've tested for a few days in 2009 and 2011. I want to thank all my sponsors who helped me to start this new adventure, I can not wait to start! ”

di Meglio also tested the Avintia Blusens CRT machine during the post-race test held after the last race in Brno.
