Pedrosa on pole at Misano

World Superbike star Jonathan Rea, making his MotoGP debut in place of the injured Casey Stoner at Repsol Honda, qualified in ninth.

The 25-year-old Ulsterman, who had been 1.8s from the top after three days of testing prior to Misano, lapped 1.501s from team-mate Pedrosa.

Ducati's Nicky Hayden will make his comeback from injury from tenth on the grid (+1.544s).

Cardion AB Ducati's Karel Abraham qualified eleventh, with Randy de Puniet the leading CRT rider in twelfth (+1.899s) for Aspar Aprilia.

Ioda's Danilo Petrucci outqualified Forward Racing's Colin Edwards on his Suter-BMW debut, although the pair were left 19th and 20th.

David Salom, replacing Ivan Silva at Avintia for the remainder of the season, will start his first MotoGP race from 21st and last (+6.218s).
