Yamaha wild-card for Motegi race

Katsuyuki Nakasuga to ride a fifth Yamaha M1 at Motegi MotoGP.
There will be a fifth Yamaha M1 on the grid in this weekend's Japanese MotoGP.

31-year-old factory test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga, who rode in place of the injured Jorge Lorenzo at last year's Sepang and Valencia rounds, has been granted a wild-card entry for Motegi.

Nakasuga - who had previously made three wild-card starts in the 250cc class - qualified last for the cancelled Sepang race, then rode from 15th on the grid to sixth in the damp Valencia grand prix.

Nakasuga (pictured on Thursday), who will ride for the 'Yamaha YSP Racing Team', brings the premier-class grid up to 22 riders.
