Bautista: I feel at my best in MotoGP

"Now I feel at my best in MotoGP" - Alvaro Bautista.
Fresh from scoring his second premier-class podium last Sunday in Motegi, newly re-signed Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista feels he's at his MotoGP best as he heads to his favourite circuit.

“Sepang is my favourite track in the championship. I won here in 125 and 250 and in MotoGP I did my best race, at that time, in 2010 [fifth place],” said Bautista, who spent his first two MotoGP seasons at Suzuki.

“Now I feel at my best in MotoGP. In the last race we did very well from the first day and I expect to continue with this work and try to be as competitive as in Motegi.”

Bautista's latest podium came after an entertaining battle with Tech 3 Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow, which was decided early when the Englishman ran out of fuel on the final lap at Motegi.

“It was a great battle!” smiled Bautista. “In the last lap I pushed to the limit and Cal stopped with no fuel. I was waiting to see which corner he would try to overtake me.

“It was good for me and unlucky for him. Anyway the battle was great.”

Former 125cc world champion Bautista is now leading a close contest for fifth in the world championship.

Never say never

Hope your right, I love the way this guy conducts himself. May be one of the only riders to dig his way out of a hole created by taking a Suzuki contract. There have been many that have failed to do that. If there is a non factory team you would want to be with, it's the one he's with. Go Alvaro.
