Gino Rea claims debut rostrum finish at Sepang

'I almost went down a few times but made it to the end and it just feels fantastic' - Gino Rea
Gino Rea celebrated a stunning Moto2 podium finish at Sepang, but it could have been even better for the British rider.

Rea took the lead of the race in Malaysia moments before it was stopped due to pouring rain, but nonetheless the Gresini rider was ecstatic with third place as he claimed his maiden rostrum result in the class.

“What can I say? It's an amazing feeling,” said Rea.

“We've struggled all year to get the bike working how I want it but in the wet I'm able to ride around the problems and finally after the crash at Le Mans earlier in the year we got another opportunity to fight for the win today.

“I almost went down a few times but made it to the end and it just feels fantastic,” he added.

“I want to thank all the guys in the team, especially my crew chief Fausto [Gresini], all the sponsors and above all my family.”

Gino is an awesome rider people don't seem to realise he is the only Moto2 pilot riding with showa suspension and it's not working neither him or the mechanics can get the bike dialed in to cope with dry tracks when it's wet these issues are slightly leveled and more rider talent comes out!

This result made my day, shame he didn't get the win after they counted back two laps as he took the lead on the previous lap just before the line. Gino is a great rider, just hope he can show that next year wherever he may end up. :)
