Hayden expects wet weekend at Phillip Island

'We want to figure out how to regain the advantage we used to have in the rain, and judging by the forecasts, we might get a chance to work on that' - Nicky Hayden
Ducati's Nicky Hayden is keen to maximise the potential of his Desmosedici in the rain as forecasters predict a wet weekend at Phillip Island.

The Australian venue hosts the penultimate round of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship, where showers and cold temperatures are expected.

Hayden, who has two poles, three podium finishes, and the lap record at Phillip Island – set in 2008 – said: “I've liked the new chassis since I've been on it, but now it's time to find a direction for improving it further.

“We also want to figure out how to regain the advantage we used to have in the rain, and judging by the forecasts, we might get a chance to work on that in Australia.

“Phillip Island is always a great GP, one of the best,” he added.

“The track is really fast and flowing, and I've had some good results there in the past.

“I really like so much about it: the atmosphere, the fast corners, and the fact that it runs counter-clockwise.”

I wouldn't bet on that. I've never heard Stoner moaning yet they started calling him moaner. Should Hayden start beating Rossi on regular basis (unlikely to happen) they will start bashing him, too.
