Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner
may rarely see eye to eye on many issues, but they agree that Jorge Lorenzo
and Dani Pedrosa
are both worthly of the 2012 MotoGP crown.
Lorenzo (Yamaha) leads fellow Spaniard Pedrosa (Honda) by 23-points with just two rounds to go. Both have won six races so far and have also suffered one non-score each, after being hit by other riders.
Stoner recently commented that 'the best man will win'
, with Rossi offering a similar view at Phillip Island on Thursday.
“They both deserve the championship because Jorge is on the pace and very fast from the beginning and won at every chance he had, at good race tracks for the Yamaha,” said Rossi.
“He is also in front because in the first part of the season he battled mainly against Stoner and Dani arrived in a bit of a delay.
“But also Dani deserves it, because he did a fantastic second part of the season, winning a lot of races.
“I think it [the title] remains more for Jorge now, because he has a good advantage in the points, but there are still two races and Dani is very fast.
“So I think it will be very interesting here and maybe also in Valencia.”
