Moto2: Pasini to replace de Angelis
Mattia Pasini will return to grand prix action at Valencia this weekend, in place of the injured Alex de Angelis at the Forward Racing (FTR) Moto2 team.

de Angelis took victory in the storm-shortened Sepang race, but was forced to withdraw from the following Australian round due to a left hand injury in qualifying, for which he required surgery.

Although de Angelis hoped to return for the final round, the official entry list has now confirmed that Pasini will take his place.

"It will be very difficult to get back on track at Valencia," admitted de Angelis earlier this week. "I am doing everything the doctors are telling me but it will need a long time for my hand to heal."

Pasini, a ten-time winner on 125 and 250cc two-strokes, was available after recently losing his Speed Master MotoGP ride to fellow Italian Roberto Rolfo.

27-year-old Italian Pasini took a best finish of tenth from his 14 rookie MotoGP starts on the CRT-specification Aprilia.

Pasini completed a full Moto2 season on an FTR with Ioda Racing in 2011, but was just 24th in the standings and hasn't taken a podium since the final season of the 250cc class in 2009.
