Forward Racing confirms 2013 line-up

Forward Racing to run two bikes in MotoGP, plus four in Moto2!

Forward Racing has confirmed it will double in size to a six-bike entry for the 2013 season.

The team will field two bikes in the MotoGP class and four in the intermediate Moto2 category.

The CRT premier-class line-up will see Colin Edwards joined by Claudio Corti as Forward makes the switch from Suter-BMW to FTR-Kawasaki machinery.

FTR-Kawasakis have been used full-time by Avintia this season, the same team that Corti is making his premier-class debut with, as a wild-card on an Inmotec-Kawasaki, this weekend.

In the Moto2 class, the team will grow to a four-bike entry with current rider Alex de Angelis joined by Simone Corsi, Mattia Pasini and Ricard Cardus.

Pasini, who raced for Speed Master's MotoGP team this year, is racing for Forward this weekend in Valencia as a replacement rider for the injured de Angelis on the FTR machinery.

Corsi, a five time Grand Prix winner, has been racing for the Ioda Moto2 team this year and started the Aragon Grand Prix from pole position. He has had numerous strong races throughout the campaign.

The Moto2 line-up is sure to be amongst the strongest on the grid and expectations will be high for their riders who can boast 19 victories between them.

i'd be curious the reason why this is... is the FTR-Kawa cheaper than the Suter-BMW? More support from either FTR, kawa or both? Seems that an inline with a standard crank will never 'feel' as good as a V or a CPC... but maybe with marelli can make it more manageable?
