Valentino Rossi: Good feeling, bad weather...
15 November 2012
Valentino Rossi will have to wait until February to get his first dry laps on a 1000cc Yamaha, after poor weather at Valencia and then Aragon marred his M1 return.
But the seven time MotoGP champion, looking to rebound from two winless seasons at Ducati, did at least record 28 wet laps at Valencia on Tuesday.
Yamaha then moved Rossi and double world champion team-mate Jorge Lorenzo to Aragon on Wednesday in the hope of finding better weather, but were thwarted by more rain.
“Yesterday I was able to do 30 laps in the very wet and the feeling was good. Good to be back, good feeling with the bike,” Rossi told MotoGP.com
, in one of the few interviews whilst still under contract to Ducati.
“But Yamaha decided to move here [to Aragon], because the forecast looked like there would be better weather, but unfortunately not.
“It was very important for Yamaha to make some laps in the dry to understand two or three things for next year's bike.
“But also here at Aragon it was impossible. Now we have to wait until February [at the Sepang test].”
The rest of the MotoGP teams remained at Valencia on Wednesday, where most riders were able to get in several hours of dry track time in the afternoon.
