Hayden upsets some Marquez fans

When asked about Marc Marquez's impressive MotoGP debut at Valencia on Wednesday, Nicky Hayden quipped that the 19-year-old Spaniard "definitely needed another year in Moto2”.

Incredibly, some in the Twittersphere failed to see it as a joke, forcing Hayden to spell it out for them:

“Chill out. I was clearly being sarcastic about Marquez needing another year in Moto2. He is very impressive and obviously belongs in MotoGP.”

Those with a sense of humour should follow Hayden on Twitter via @NickyHayden.

I follow Nicky and he does have a good sense of humour. He is very subtle at times but if you can't find humour in these sort of things then I don't know what's wrong with you. Also seeing James Ellison strike back at STUPID fans was glorious. It's good to see riders stick up for themselves.
