Moto3: Maverick Vinales signs with Laglisse
Maverick Vinales will ride for the Laglisse team in the 2013 Moto3 World Championship.

Laglisse's Pablo Nieto, a former grand prix winner and son of '12+1' champion Angel Nieto, announced the deal on Twitter from Almeria, where Vinales is to make his test debut for the team.

The announcement ends a month of drama for Vinales, which began when he walked out of the Avintia Blusens team on the eve of the Malaysian Grand Prix, whilst still having a slim mathematical chance of winning the title.

The Spanish teenager was back with Avintia for the following penultimate round, but couldn't recover second in the standings from Luis Salom.

Vinales, who had signed a two-year contract extension with Avintia shortly before the Sepang 'split', won five Moto3 races this year, the same number as KTM's champion Sandro Cortese.

Laglisse are believed to have secured 'factory' spec KTM machinery for Vinales.

Laglisse ran Efren Vazquez, Adrian Martin and Alberto Moncayo on FTR Hondas for most of this season. 15-year-old girl racer Ana Carrasco is also linked to Laglisse for 2013.

Everyone knows this kid is a talent. Hopefully he has learned his lesson from last year and will keep his toys in the pram in 2013.

If he romps to the title next year then 2012 may turn out to be just a small blip in a very successful career, but if he starts with the petulance again and it all goes badly wrong, it could be a career off the rails.

Plus he really needs to improve in the wet!
