Ducati MotoGP team starts final test of 2012 at Jerez
PICS: Ducati MotoGP test underway at Jerez
While Honda was wrapping up its final private test of 2012 at Sepang on Wednesday, the Ducati MotoGP team was starting its last track appearance of the year at Jerez.

Nicky Hayden (pictured on Wednesday) and new factory team-mate Andrea Dovizioso will be joined by MotoGP rookie Andrea Iannone, with new factory test rider Michele Pirro again substituting for the injured Ben Spies on the other satellite Desmosedici.

Ducati are testing alongside most of the leading WSBK teams as well as the new Avintia Blusens CRT line-up of Hiroshi Aoyama and Hector Barbera.

The test is the first since the announcement that ex-BMW Superbike director Bernhard Gobmeier will take over from Filippo Preziosi as general manager of Ducati Corse.

Paolo Ciabatti - returning to Ducati in the role of MotoGP project director, having worked for World Superbike organiser FG Sport since 2007 - is present for the test.
